Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using mealissa.com or any Mealissa services, including the Distributed AI Network API and our mobile applications. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use our services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you") and Mealissa ("we", "our", "us"). You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the API. Use of our services on behalf of an organisation means you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

2. Description of Services

Mealissa operates across three service areas:

• Distributed AI Network: An API that routes inference requests to a pool of community-contributed Ollama nodes. Access requires an API key.
• Compute contribution: A programme that allows users to connect their Ollama instances to the network and earn API credits in return.
• Mobile applications: Consumer apps published on Google Play, including educational apps for children.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of our services at any time with reasonable notice where practicable.

3. Account Registration and API Keys

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your API key. Do not share it publicly or embed it in client-side code.
• You are responsible for all usage and charges incurred under your API key.
• You must notify us immediately if you believe your API key has been compromised.
• We may revoke or rotate keys at any time if we detect abuse or security risk.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Mealissa services to:

• Generate, distribute, or facilitate illegal content, including content that exploits or harms minors.
• Harass, threaten, or harm any individual or group.
• Produce disinformation, deepfakes, or content designed to deceive at scale.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, other users' accounts, or contributor nodes.
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract our routing logic, node list, or infrastructure details.
• Resell or sublicense API access without our written permission.
• Violate any applicable law or regulation.

We may suspend or terminate access immediately for violations without refund.

5. Compute Contributors

If you contribute compute to the Distributed AI Network:

• You warrant that you own or have authorisation to use the hardware and network resources you contribute.
• You understand that your node will receive and process inference requests from third-party users. Request payloads are encrypted in transit; you must not log or store user prompt content.
• Credits earned are non-transferable, have no cash value, and may only be redeemed for Mealissa API usage.
• We reserve the right to remove nodes from the pool for quality, reliability, or policy reasons.

6. Credits and Payments

• API usage is billed based on the plan you select. Current pricing is listed at licensing-plan.html.
• Credits earned through compute contribution will be applied to your account balance automatically.
• All fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law or at our sole discretion.
• We may change pricing with 30 days' notice posted on our website. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance of new pricing.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on mealissa.com, including text, graphics, logos, and software, is owned by Mealissa or its licensors and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works without our prior written consent.

Model weights served through the network are subject to their own licences (e.g., Meta Llama Community License, Apache 2.0). You are responsible for complying with the licence of any model you use via the network.

8. Privacy

Your use of our services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

Our services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated outputs will be accurate or appropriate for your use case.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mealissa shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of — or inability to use — our services. Our total liability for direct damages shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Mealissa and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your use of our services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party right.

12. Termination

Either party may terminate access to the services at any time. You may close your account via the dashboard or by contacting us. We may terminate or suspend your access immediately for breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your API keys are revoked and unused purchased credits (not earned credits) may be refunded on a pro-rata basis at our discretion.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in the jurisdiction where Mealissa is registered.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by posting the revised Terms on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of our services after the effective date of changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
